Equal Pay Day Sacramento is an annual program designed to raise awareness of the gender pay gap in our Sacramento region.
The Equal Pay Day Experience is the signature community event that brings to life the intimate stories of Sacramento women and their experience with the different issues that contribute to the gender pay gap.
Participants will come away with an understanding that the gender pay gap isn't about someone in HR deciding to pay a woman 20-45% less than her white, straight, male counterparts. It's a complex intersection of gender, race and ethnicity, access to education, unpaid care work, and much more! We'll bust some myths and help you realize the cumulative effects of the gender pay gap at the individual, community and organizational levels -- and how you can take action to close the gap here in our Sacramento community!
We're excited to feature some stunning work from local female artists who are creating signature pieces depicting the drivers of the gender pay gap for each of our Experience Stations.
Food & non-alcoholic beverages will be provided; adult beverages will be available for purchase.
If you have a disability and require a reasonable accomodation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org 1 week prior to the event so we can work with you to make suitable arrangements.
